    HEART OF MAN IS A SOCIAL VENTURE THAT EMPOWERS YOUNG PEOPLE TO THINK LIKE CREATORS, NOT STUDENTS.

     We're on a mission to prepare the next generation of creators, innovators, and entrepreneurs.

    Our mission is to prepare the next generation of creators, innovators, and entrepreneurs. We offer digital, design, business, and STEAM skills to middle and high school students so they can not only compete in the 21st-century, but also set a new standard for excellence.

     

    More than 650 young people in nine U.S. cities and the Bahamas have taken part in HōM workshops and hands-on after-school programs, gaining real-world experience, access to industry experts, and a leg up on the competition in the classroom and the marketplace.

  • STUDENT-DESIGNED PRODUCTS

    Student participants may be chosen to represent the HōM brand as designers,

    musicians, and creatives—giving them an unparalleled opportunity to build their portfolio and retail products. 

     

    Support a young creator with every purchase! Ten percent of the profit from student-designed products is invested in a scholarship fund and the rest is used to provide free HōM programming in underserved communities.

    Hidden Treasures

    Hidden Treasures is a HōM student design team from Maya Angelou High School in Washington, D.C. The team consist of three 11th graders, Imani, Jada, and Mikey. Through HōM’s education program they successfully created, distributed, and retailed the One Heart United Bracelet at Redeem, D.C.’s top independent boutique.

    Marcus Noel

    Founder + CEO

     Inspiration: The name HōM was inherited from my name, which means “giving heart and love for mankind.” I started designing and selling clothing when I was 12. When I started HōM as a fashion brand, I shared my profits with struggling after school programs in Chicago, yet I couldn’t track the impact it had on the students, so I wanted to create something more impactful and sustainable.

    Inspiration: Growing up in my village in Bikita, Zimbabwe we didn’t have much which inspired creativity and innovation. My cousins and I made shoes from old tires, soccer balls with plastic bags, and slingshots out of sticks. These life experiences are my inspiration. I believe that youth are the most creative and powerful people on the planet; my dream is to empower youth, so that they can bring their ideas to life and share them with the world.

    Inspiration: I am a product architect and designer on a mission to bring innovative concepts to life all while fighting to complete high school.

     

    Experience: Founder of Speakapedia Inc., an online platform that helps kids learn about historical events and figures though artificial tutors; Speakapedia was recognized by the U.S. Congress as one of the most innovative educational models.
